PARAS'10 for Woody
This special guest event is held in honour of the memory of Capt Paul Wood PARA. Woody, or Moose Head as he was known by many, was the epitome of a Parachute Regiment Officer. In his 9 years of service he served in 2, 3 and 4 PARA in a number of roles and was a fearless character who would walk into the gates of hell for any one of his soldiers, family or friends. Woody was recently described by the Colonel Commandant of The Parachute Regiment as an unforgettable force of nature, who always lived by his mantra – war is chaos: train for war, live in chaos.
The PARAS’10 for Woody will be run by Limitless Trails across the brutal Brecon Beacons, an iconic training ground for The Parachute Regiment and SAS. The challenging route, across National Trust land, will push entrants with ascents even more challenging than the Land of Nod! Entries will be strictly limited to 300 due to National Trust rules, so get signed up quickly before spaces fill up. This event is adult only, with no kids race, and there will be prizes for individuals only (no team prizes).
Woody would be first in line for this event, ready to tackle the hills with his boots and bergan on and would have been incredibly proud of everyone taking part in this special event. His family wish to thank you all for your support and generosity towards the event and Woody’s Regimental charity, SUPPORT OUR PARAS.
